Ethics
I work according to ACAT's code of Ethics which requires me to be honest and as transparent as possible with the realistic expectations of our work while engaging in clinical supervision, ongoing professional development and practicing within the scope of my training and competencies. As with all therapies, there are no guarantees and the evidence for therapeutic success relates to the strength of the therapeutic alliance. I am responsible to you as a therapist and if either of us have ethical concerns arise during the work, we can openly talk about these. Where this involves risk or safeguarding issues, I would firstly invite you to work with me to come up with a collaborative plan of how to safely move forward.
The ACAT Code of Ethics prohibits me from using testimonials to advertise.
GDPR
I am required to be registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and adhere to regulation according to current data protection law. When we meet I invite you to talk about any concerns related to your information. You are welcome to discuss any concerns related to how I manage your data with me at any point during the course of our work together. A document will also be shared with detailed information about data protection, your rights and my legal obligations as your therapist.
Therapeutic agreement
As part of a collaborative working plan we will discuss and agree on a therapeutic contract for us to understand the parameters and expectations of our work together.
Accreditation
To continue to practice as a CAT practitioner I am required to take part in Continuing Professional Development and have an active role in ongoing learning. As part of this development I currently am a lead editor for Reformulation, the journal of Cognitive Analytic Therapy. As a CAT Practitioner, I belong to the Associate of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) and in my NHS role I revalidate my registration as a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council in my capacity as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
Insurance
In order to provide therapy for you, I hold an active insurance policy.
Cost
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call.
If we decide to proceed, each session of Cognitive Analytic Therapy is £80 (payment in advance)
